What a Drag, one of the most popular and entertaining charity events of the year, is once again returning to the stage on March 14, 2021. The event is in support of Casa Esperanza and Compassion for the Family, which provide refuge and assistance for women suffering from domestic violence.
To create a night full of dancing and entertainment, straight men from the Puerto Vallarta community, both nationals, and foreign residents are paired with Fairy Drag Mothers, professional performers, and makeup artists, to experience a night in the life of being a fabulous woman on the stage. Some of Puerto Vallarta’s top talent in the artistic community lend their support and mentorship to help the contestants perfect their performances, with exhaustive rehearsals beginning months before the big show.
Traditionally held at Teatro Vallarta, this year, due to community health precautions, the theater will not be at full capacity and social distancing protocols will be in place. Because this is such a popular event, there will be an additional live streaming party, held in the outdoor setting of Mango’s Beach Club. Entry for the beach club watching party is $500 pesos per person and Teatro Vallarta tickets begin at $600 pesos and up.
Special guest performers this year include Vallarta’s favorite, Kim Kuzma, as well as Al Carswell, Celeste Innocenti, and Eli Estrada, which will round out what is always a fantastic night of laugh out loud entertainment to support an important cause.
