The first week of March, from the 1st to the 5th, is a great time to be enjoying luxury accommodation in Puerto Vallarta, because it becomes the host of a spectacular wine festival that includes the participation of 10 hotels and 5 restaurants in the region.
This year’s Wine Fest includes two Master Lectures, a Wine Expo, Wine Maker’s Dinner, Wine Tastings, and a traditional open air Verbena Popular located at Lazaro Cardenas Plaza in the Romantic Zone. Every year, wines from a different part of the world are held at the centre of the festival as Guest of Honor; this year’s Guest of Honor is Italy.
Vallarta’s Wine Fest is a celebration for everyone; it is truly an event for the entire village. Their mission is to include all social classes in the region in enjoying and learning about arts and wine culture. Many events have free admission and are packed with information so that everyone can learn something about the artistry of wine culture.
“It is a feast in honor of wine; and year after year we have invited a different country to honor it and enjoy its history, its winemaking experience, and the products that emanate from it.”
This year’s Master Lectures will be held at the Hotel Friendly Vallarta by Allegra Antinori, who is a member of the 10th oldest family owned company in the world and the largest wine maker in Italy. Catch “The History of Vinos Antinori and Wines in Today’s World” and “The Wines of Mexico and Their Current Consumption” at 11:00 am on March 2 and March 3. Admission is free!
