Everyone knows Tequila comes from Mexico, but did you know that the birthplace of Tequila and the only region where real Tequila is made, is right here in the State of Jalisco, just a few hours away from Puerto Vallarta?  If trying Tequila wasn’t on your list of Puerto Vallarta vacation plans (and we know that it was!) here are a few reasons to add it:

  1. It’s a low-calorie alcohol, meaning you can keep that beach body looking great!
  2. Studies show it can lower bad cholesterol and may actually raise good cholesterol.
  3. Because it adds to probiotics, it can help stimulate digestion and rev up your metabolism.
  4. It’s gluten-free, meaning those with gluten allergies and carb-counters can enjoy it.

But how do you know which Tequila to try? Our expert bartenders at Signature Lounge and Pinnacle Sky Bar are there to offer you their professional recommendations from our carefully curated selection of Tequilas. Or, for a bespoke experience, talk to your Pinnacle Resorts Concierge about setting up a private tasting with Vallarta Tequila Tastings, local experts that can arrange one of five different private Puerto Vallarta Tequila tasting experiences for you to enjoy in the comfort of your luxury Puerto Vallarta vacation rental at Pinnacle Resorts. However you enjoy it – sip, shot or mixed- Tequila is a must for any Puerto Vallarta visit.

One of the great advantages offered by staying at Pinnacle Resorts luxury vacation rentals in the Puerto Vallarta Romantic Zone,  is the easy access to the literally dozens of incredible restaurants located within walking distance. One of our favorites doesn’t even require a walk, just a quick trip down on our own “Pinnicular” (a funicular for easy access to our neighborhood), will take you right to one of the best restaurants in Puerto Vallarta – The Swedes Bar & Bistro.

Since 2009, owner Morgan Granander has been providing his guests with a delicious menu of Northern European and international cuisine, served with attentive and polished service in either the intimate and sophisticated dining room or upstairs at the lively rooftop bar area.

Some menu favorites are the Norwegian Salmon and the Rack of Lamb, but if you are feeling a little more casual, you can’t go wrong with one of their famous Morgan Burgers. Be sure to also check out the cocktail menu for some fun hand-crafted mixed drinks or peruse the thoughtfully chosen wine list.

The Swedes Bar & Bistro is open from 4:00 pm to 1:00 am, Tuesday through Sunday. Visit your Pinnacle Resorts Concierge for reservations.

As the Spring Break, Easter vacation and Semana Santa crowds dissipate from Puerto Vallarta, we now move into our lovely summer season. While many people think of Puerto Vallarta as the perfect winter vacation destination in Mexico, May through September is actually one of the nicest times to vacation in our charming city. Here are just a few reasons why:

  • Fewer crowds – Summer season is the perfect time to experience Puerto Vallarta like a local, without the tourist crowds. It’s a wonderful time to explore the city, the beaches and the markets.
  • Lush greenery – The summer season in Puerto Vallarta is when our beautiful Sierra Mountain Range looks the greenest and beautiful. It’s also the perfect time to take a trip to the gorgeous Vallarta Botanical Garden. Tip: bring a swimsuit to take a cool dip in the river and leave time to stay and enjoy lunch in their beautiful restaurant with its amazing view.
  • Nature’s fireworks – Rainy season in Puerto Vallarta runs May through October, but our rains usually roll in once or twice a week in the late afternoon, after sunny days, to bring cooler temperatures and incredible showers that last about an hour before dissipating. If you have never seen a tropical rain shower, it is truly an experience and even locals that have lived here their entire lives, throw open their doors to welcome the first big rain of the season. But even more, the rains come with fantastic lightning shows over Bay, that promise to provide some of the best vacation photos you will ever take.

To add to the many reasons why you will want to visit Puerto Vallarta in the summer season, you can take advantage of our best rates of the year at Pinnacle Resorts on our luxury vacation rentals in the Puerto Vallarta Romantic Zone. Make your reservation today and enjoy your Puerto Vallarta summer vacation with Pinnacle Resorts.

The Huichol indigenous people have been living in our region for hundreds of years and artisanal handicraft is deeply ingrained in their rich culture. Intricate yarn and bead techniques are centuries old and have been passed down as a way of sharing the legend and beliefs of the Huichol community.

Art is used as a means of prayer and to interact with the spirit world, creating symbolic representations of the figures that are central to their belief system. Some of the symbols you will frequently see in the art of the Huichol include trees, bears, armadillos, deer, coyote and peyote plants. Serpents are also often seen in Huichol art, but unlike in some other cultures, the serpent is revered by the Huichol as it protects the corn and peyote from pests.

There are numerous art galleries in Puerto Vallarta where you can explore Huichol Art. Pinnacle Resorts offers the only luxury accommodations in the Puerto Vallarta Romantic Zone, only steps away from several galleries, as well as restaurants, beaches, nightlife and live entertainment, making it the perfect luxury vacation rental in Puerto Vallarta.

Ask our concierge for art gallery recommendations and on ways to support the Huichol people of Puerto Vallarta.

The whale-watching season in Puerto Vallarta begins each year at the beginning of December and runs until the end of March, as hundreds of Humpback whales make their annual migration through the waters of Banderas Bay.

These majestic and massive creatures make the long swim all the way from cold Alaska to our warm Mexican waters to mate and to raise their babies until they are old enough to make the journey back north.

Our sheltered bay is not only the perfect place for the Humpback whales to spend a few months with their babies, it’s the ideal place for you to experience a Puerto Vallarta whale-watching eco-tour while you are on vacation.

There are numerous whale-watching tours in Puerto Vallarta and your Pinnacle Resorts Concierge can assist in finding the perfect tour for you, from group excursions to private whale-watching charters. And remember to pack your binoculars because you may likely spot these friendly giants as they jump and play from the vantage point at the Residences Sky Bar.
