SPRING BREAK IN FULL SWING

We are halfway through “Semana Santa”, the Easter holiday that is huge travel period for Mexican nationals.  It’s estimated that 1 in 5 Mexicans will vacation travel during this two-week holiday, around 20 million people in total and sunny Puerto Vallarta is one of the most popular vacation destinations.  In addition to Mexican vacationers, at this time of year Puerto Vallarta is popular with Spring Breakers, families enjoying school vacations and snowbirds riding out the last weeks of a long winter.

With a prime location just steps away from Los Muertos Beach, one the most famous beaches in Mexico, Resorts by Pinnacle would like to remind all of our residents and visitors to do their part to help keep our beaches clean during this busy season.  After a great day at Los Muertos Beach enjoying beach clubs, restaurants, watersports and the warm Puerto Vallarta sunshine, please remember to pack up all your belongings to take with you and to deposit trash in marked areas.

INTRODUCING TO THE PALOMA

Of course Mexico is famous as the birthplace of the Margarita, but did you know that there is another Tequila based cocktail that is perhaps not as famous, but equally delicious?  Let Resorts by Pinnacle, the only luxury accommodations in the Romantic Zone of Puerto Vallarta, introduce you to the Paloma.

The Paloma is tart with just a touch of sweetness, totally refreshing and easy to mix, making it the ideal cocktail to whip up in the full kitchen of your luxury suite and enjoy with the incredible view of a Puerto Vallarta sunset from your private terrace.  Here’s our favorite Paloma recipe:

Ingredients

Ground salt

1 grapefruit wedge

¼ cup fresh grapefruit juice

1 tablespoon fresh lime juice

1 teaspoon sugar

¼ cup Tequila

¼ cup club soda

Directions

Place the ground salt on a plate, then rub half of rim of a highball glass with grapefruit wedge and dip the rim of glass in salt. Combine grapefruit juice, lime juice, and sugar in glass; stir until sugar is dissolved. Stir in Tequila, add ice, and top off with club soda. Garnish with grapefruit wedge.

PET TRAVEL TIPS

Resorts by Pinnacle knows that four-legged friends need some vacation time too, so we’re proud to offer pet-friendly luxury accommodations in Puerto Vallarta. To ensure that you and your furry friend get the most out of your holiday, we have some pet travel tips to make pet-inclusive vacations a breeze.

• Be sure to have a health certificate from your vet dated within 10 days of your departure.

• Book a direct flight.

• Select the right size pet carrier for your pet and be sure to start familiarizing your pet with the carrier well in advance of your trip.

• Do not feed your pet 4 to 6 hours prior to your trip and if possible, affix a collapsible water bowl inside the carrier with a few ice cubes in it for time-release drinking water.

And of course, you want your pet to be on his or her best behavior so that other guests love your pet as much as you do, so remember:

• Always use designated potty areas and pick up after your pet.

• Always keep your pet on leash in public areas.

• Always respect non-pet designated areas.
